About me
As an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist, I enjoy promoting health and well-being. I love interacting with people and endeavour to create sessions that are enjoyable but also aim to provide valuable input and advice.
In 1999, I completed my degree in Physiotherapy BSc (Hons) at Brunel University and started working for the NHS shortly after. From 2001, I began specialising in Children’s Physiotherapy (Paediatrics), working with preterm babies and children up to aged 16. I love the challenge of adapting treatments and interventions to children and young people. My area of expertise is early years development, paediatric musculo-skeletal and orthopaedic conditions. I am aware of the importance of ongoing professional development and aim to continue with relevant training throughout my career.
I started incorporating modified Pilates into some children’s physiotherapy treatment sessions when I undertook my first Pilates course over 10 years ago and my passion for Pilates began! I set up privately over 6 years ago offering Children’s Physiotherapy in Maidenhead. I also established an Adult Pilates class and Postnatal Pilates class for fitness and well being. I hope to be able to offer Pilates classes to children/young people over the next few years.
Through the APPI (The Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute), I have completed my matwork training and am a Certified Pilates Instructor. I am also a member of APPI.
My Physiotherapy professional registration is with the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) and I am a member of the CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) and the APCP (Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists).
Outside of work, I am also a mum to twin girls who were born in 2016. They were born 3 months prematurely and spent 12 weeks on a neonatal unit, so I have both personal and professional experience in understanding the stress, concerns and challenges that parents face regarding their children’s health.
In 2019, I worked with Bliss (The charity for babies born premature or sick) to provide some parental input for the Bliss Baby Charter refresh.
